THE KNOLLWOOD BEACH ASSOCIATION
BEACH RULES AND REGULATIONS

The Officers and Trustees of the Knollwood Beach Association have formulated the following rules in accordance with Suffolk County and New York State Department of Health regulations. Please be sure that members of your household and your guests are familiar with the rules. The lifeguard is responsible for enforcing these rules. He or she does not have the authority to change or waive any portion of the rules.

1. Dogs and other animals are not allowed on the beach at any timeñeven when the beach is closed.

2. Members may have guests but should be in their company at all times.

3. A responsible adult must actively supervise children under twelve years. The lifeguard will send unsupervised children home.

4. Swimming rules: Swimming is prohibited when the beach is closed. Swimming outside the designated swimming area is prohibited. Diving off the float is not permitted.

5. Unsafe or boisterous conduct of any kind is not permitted in the water, on the beach, or on the float.

6. Consumption of alcohol on the beach is prohibited.

7. Glass containers of any kind are prohibited.

8. Vehicles, including skateboards and bicycles, are not permitted on the beachñeven when the beach is closed.

9. Volleyball and basketball are permitted in the designated areas-- no other sports are permitted.

10. No whistles, other than the lifeguardís, are permitted on the beach.

11. Water sports, including water skiing, jet skiing, and fishing, are not permitted in the swimming area.

12. Boats may be launched only from the designated area.

13. Dinghies (less than 11 ft. long) must be stored on the dinghy rackñnot on the beach.

14. All moorings are required to have a Town of Huntington Mooring permit available through the Harbor Master Office.

15. Members may have parties on the beach if they obtain permission. Parties may not be held on weekends before 5:00 PM during July and August. Party givers must retain the services of a lifeguard if they plan on swimming after the beach has officially closed, or if the number of guests exceeds five (5) during regular beach hours.
